Pro Tips for Perfect Gel Nails
Expert hacks to make your gel manicure last 4+ weeks
Thin Coats = Long-Lasting Results
Thick gel coats lead to bubbling, uneven curing, and early chipping. Always apply 2 thin coats instead of 1 thick one — it cures faster and adheres better to nails.
Seal the Free Edge
When applying base/top coat, run the brush along the free edge of your nail (the tip). This "seals" the gel and prevents lifting from the ends — the most common chipping spot.
Avoid Skin Contact
Gel on cuticles/skin causes lifting. Use a small brush with remover solution to clean up excess gel before curing — this ensures a clean, long-lasting manicure.
Pair with Dermi-Smart™ Nail Lamp
All tutorials utilize our Dermi-Smart™ Optimized Curing System. To ensure safety and an optimal 99% cure rate, we recommend using the Dermi-Smart™ Nail Lamp.
Troubleshooting Common Gel Nail Issues
Fix lifting, chipping, and other common problems fast
90% of the time, this is an insufficient Prep & Etch problem! Ensure the entire nail plate is fully buffed (dull/matte) before base coat.
Use the "Thin, Multiple Layers" technique. Ensure each coat is fully cured before applying the next for a smooth finish.
This happens if applied too fast. Use slow, gentle strokes to avoid trapping air, and work in a low-humidity environment.
The magnet was held too far away (over 3mm), OR you waited too long between magnetizing and curing. Move faster and hold the magnet closer!
You forgot to "cap the free edge" with the base coat and top coat! Sealing the tip is essential for locking the manicure to your nail.
